China's ancient electric wheelchair records that archeologists found a wheelchair pattern on a 1600 sarcophagus. Europe's early record is the only wheelchair in the Middle Ages (which needs to be pushed by others, closer to the contemporary nursing wheelchair). In the history of the world's recognized wheelchair, the early record is the carving of wheelchairs on the stone coffin in the north and South Dynasties of China (525 A.D.) and the predecessor of the modern wheelchair.
In modern times, about eighteenth Century, there appeared a wheelchair close to modern styling. It consists of two large wooden front wheels and a rear single wheel with a handrail chair in the middle. These simple structures can be said to be the predecessors of wheelchairs. After World War I, the United States provided about 50 pounds of wheelchair for the injured. Britain has developed a three wheeled wheelchair with rocking wheels, and soon after that, power drive is added. In the late two World War, the United States began distributing large amounts of 18 inch chrome steel E&J wheelchair.
